Its not my current setup, but yes i've got a pod. My current setup is EL bend from TB to 3" pipe to pod in box with lower air intake thru to the bumper, with a BA XR6T snorkel.

I've got exhaust heat wrap, though I dont know if that will stop heat absorption, or just keep the intake hot after you turn off the engine.

okay just so you know what i said is what my dad said (hes a mechatronic engineer)
they are not hypotheticals they will happen to what extent i dont know hence i didnt say eg the intake temp may go up by 5degrees or as little as .1of a degree i dont know

im sorry that my answer wasnt good enough for you next time i guess ill have to ask people wether they want me to post

ohhh and as for the GAYU comment ill take u on any day

ohh he also metioned that if you do go ahead and do it he would make either two peices of flexi in it or a bit longer 1 if your engine puts out a bit of power

It's too hot. That exhaust shield you have is for cosmetics only.

We've all thought about doing that intake... Ever wonder why nobody is using one?.... and why would you bother asking questions when you will just reject any negatives towards the setup

It's flawed, why didn't ford do it? ahhh 14 years later it's not a common thing, sorry, you NEVER see it... Feinds pressure results..... BUT HEY! Do it 8-) :lol:

djcustomcomputing told you a lot of info that you need to know, you would be wise to listen instead of acting your age ;)

+ shorter and less restrictive pipework
- On the exhaust side of engine - obviously much warmer even with heat shielding
- metal has lower specific heat than plastic - this doesn't matter so much when using it in stock position, but on that side of the engine bay the box and pipes are likely to become quite heated. As far as this affects performance would have to be tested, but I am sure there will be higher intake temps then if the same setup was used from stock position (even though there is longer pipework).

Can't really comment on the rest as can't see inside the airbox/inlets for airbox

i think if people wanted a sorter less restrictive intake they would run the pod off the tb. i've done it myself before and i will agree with the majority of people that say you loose torque. the standard ford inlet route is there because given the longer path at lower temps provides a vast benefit over a shorter higher temp tract.

science aside it does look awsome because it's different, and at the end of the day i think if it was ducted from a high pressure area you would negate the temp from the exaust (shielded) anyway..

Yep, sucking ridicuously hot air will do it.

If you boxed it and had a bonnet scoop feeding air I am sure you would see better results though. Whether they are justifiable for the coin spent to get them would be another issue though.

i read somwhere that about every 10 degrees in intake temp lowered is equivalent to 1psi of boost

Why didnt ford do it is not a good point, theres various things that we can look back on and ask why did ford do that that way?

How the f**k would you know if the heat shield is cosmetic only? some more BS coming from you does not surprise me.
