hi just wanting opinions positive or negative on moving an air box to the other side as to shorten intake and give it a straight run any ideas ???????????

also consider the fact that then your intake pipe will be running over the hottest thing in your engine bay - the exhaust manifold. |

Only problem I could see is it would be closer to the exhaust manifold and would run more or less over the top of it to get to the TB.

That would be you biggest concern even if youve gone a stainless steel heat shield etc ... hot air is gonna hurt u more than having the shorter length.....also would it really be much shorter....your only removing the bend.. at the throttle body which would restrict airflow but too what extent.. imo i wouldnt be looking to do this mod unless you have a better heat shield setup of your exhaust/headers and are planning to modify the car enough that the additional airflow would really be warranted.

you could always heat wrap both the extractors and pipe. there's ways around it. but at the end i'd say a lot of effort for not much.
