In theory I suppose you could bolt on the BA head but you'll be facing A LOT of fabrication to get it to fit... custom timing cover at the very least, as well as purchasing some vernier cam gears, not to mention trying to get the head to seal. |

with the amount it cost to fit a ba motor you could put that money into the sohc and get better results..

You are saying that the SOHC engine from Ford is stronger/better than the DOHC??Can you please explain why though & i am not being cynical or smart, just want to know your opinion. |

What troyman was saying, themoney you would spend getting a barra conversion done could be spent on the sohc engine getting it boosted, and building it to handle it

What troyman was saying, themoney you would spend getting a barra conversion done could be spent on the sohc engine getting it boosted, and building it to handle it bottom end wise they are pretty much the same, as in build quality and strength.. and you would spend aprox $3000 to $5000 for the dohc conversion and make from 140-160rwkw,.. spend $2000 on a n/a sohc on headwork, cam and tune you will still make 140-160rwkw and wont need to be engineered,.. or spend $3- $5000 and turbo the sohc and it will put out around 250+rwkw.. or look at it this way, your std au vct engine already has 168-172kw at the engine.. the std ba dohc has 182kw at the engine or bf/fg is 190?.. thats alot of outlay for 10-20kw.. not saying its a bad conversion and it shouldnt be done, i just dont think its worth spending that much money for a conversion that in std form will only give you a few kw more.. imo at the moment the cost for the gains are negligable... |
