3x 14.8's 2x 14.7's and a 14.67, all on a very cool night.
i wouldnt mind throwing a decent cam and some headwork into the mix, could get it into the low 14's!

yeah but yours doesnt count lol

thats a freak time with whats basically a stock EF

it does count, thats just a perfect example of a good condition e-series with smart modifications AND a good driver behind it.
thats all you really need to break into the 14's

6k on parts and labor done by your self, slap on a turbo and 200rwkw is easy, even with a unopened motor with a i6.... lets see a e-series v8 punch out 400rwkw, with two extra cylinders you think it should be hard (cough s**t)
when your talking about value for your money performance i6 wins time after time

Heres the absolute truth in a photoshop.

If anyone disagrees, they are a f**k idiot that doesn't know s**t, and your opinion is null and void anyway.
If you still think you are right, even after I tell you you are wrong, go to www.turbomustangs.com, see the multiple 1500+hp Windsor based motors, and then show me the 4L straight sixes, let alone the 4L straight sixes with only one cam in the head, that make this power

wtf??? start of with a elxr6 manual. with 2k youl eaisly drop into the 14's. there have been several people drop into the 13's. for a na "6" you cant go wrong.
and in terms mods. you spend the same amount on a e-series 6 and 8. im sure the 6 will ALWAYS come out ahead

A ef/el at the drags last night needed 180 rwkw and a shot of nitrous to get in the 13's...

Was an awesome sight to say the least, but the coin used in that car was phenomenal too, It is like flogging a dead horse to an extent, unless you have a huffer on the side.

Still A big carb and cam Xflow will get close...
im close to a 134 with 174rwkw NA! no nitrous... or boost..

Just out of interest, what did your six do down the 1/4 with a standard head & cam, + automatic? :P

Looks like shielded pod filter to me, you can tell by the way power just keeps climbing to the limiter.

OK ...Carl's (eed-250) drag record so far:

14.8 in his mildly worked ED GLi 6 when it was N/A,
14.5 in his other half's STOCK ED XR8 (hence his spiel on 6's vs 8's)
13.2 last week in his now-Turboed ED GLi (running approx 8 psi without intercooler)

This guy CAN drive, and he DOES know what he's talking about.

An N/A I6 can have a great combination of mods ...BUT from my experience, pulling a 14.5 quarter mile is ONLY possible if OTHER things are right on the night.

N/A cars are more susceptible to things like track conditions and driver technique.

A higher track / air temp, and the slightest driver f**k-up (bad launch = s**t 60 ft times) can play havoc with 1/4 mile ET's on an N/A car ...boosted cars have the extra power / torque reserves to not be as affected by these conditions / f**k-ups.

As a rough guide, a well modded manual N/A I6 Falc with 140-170 rwkw CAN run a mid-14 or below ...but only on a cold night, with a driver who knows how to launch well enough to achieve a 60 ft time as close to 2 secs as possible, without faltering for the rest of the run.

coolies... so the stock GLI ED was .3 slower than a XR8?

That compares a standard 6, to a factory worked 8.. not a fair comparison is it?

I've decided my quest for 14.5 would benefit from a low km EL motor.. so I've just picked one up.

I've also lined up the driveline from an ED XR6. (5 spd manual and 3.45diff with 2piece driveshaft)

Put a cam in the EL BBM motor.. and all my existing mods.. should get me close..
