Gday, im just wondering if you can do it, im pretty sure the e-series had it??? It would be good to have that extra grip off the line or when im in the wet.

Not without using an AU Ghia wiring harness and ecu, No E Series had traction control, it will be a major PITA...

They come fitted with traction control in the form of your right foot.

Even if it was an easy mod you still wouldn't do it. By the time it cuts in it's to late and then it leaves you no power to get yourself out of crap. My advice slow down and get some better tyres, I run firestone firehawks on my au and even with the power it makes(which I beleive to be substantialy more than yours) I don't have any problems keeping it on course.

i absolutely love my firehawks ebxr82nv they changed my whole opinion on tyres in general. i used to think that tyres are tyres untill i put them on my ea, they tranformed the whole car.
traction control is useless in reguards to getting off the line, imagine lighting up a big smokey burnout then having all your torque disapear... it doesn't move very fast at all. traction control is good for everyday driving for people with average driving skills, as far as driving hard goes, it has no place, theres a reason those 6000hp top fuelers don't use it and still manage 5 second passes, it's because it's fair useless. at a moderate speed (say over 50), by the time you break traction then the computer realises whats going on then implements the control measures its usually too late to do much about it and as mentioned before not enough power to get out of it. you end up with an 4ss end thats swinging dead weight.

Sorry must have missed your power update, just thought with you selling the can and springs you'd given up. The 5sp el I used to drive made 170+ and it didn't have control issues. I do run decent suspension in all my cars, that helps to. What setup are you running on the rear?

i didn't put the double valve springs in as the standard were on the boarder of still keeping them in and it was going to cost 800 to put the springs in, that 1502au cam is the AU version of the wade 1636 so its pretty tame. il just show u the car page i have.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3118287 It must be my tires, how much were the firehawks?

definitely a tyre problem..I used to use s**t old tyres (rock hard) on 15" rims and it would slip out basically anywhere at any speed (going up a slight hill going 70, the downchange would cause it to lose traction in the wet..)
so anyway, now i got good quality khumo's on 245 r19 and it barely spins even in the wet. get the widest tyres possible for the rear, and get good soft compound, brand name tyres. |

You can fit a 255/40R17 to an 8" rim. I personally run Nankang NS-II enough traction to cut a 2.0 second 60ft at Willowbank, with a Manual 5.0 launching at 4400rpm. They only spin if you want them to spin.

Rubber always seems to be badly overlooked. huge gains can be had in handling with QUALITY rubber, leaving your suspension to worry more about ride quality. one should complement the other. no point going good suspension setup and leaving s**t rubber on there.
