better diff ratio? dont bother unless you work your engine first... im prety sure the ba's got diff ratio of 3.48 not sure though can someone confirm this?

3.45 if its and xr6, 3.23 if its an xt.
This is a good process for mods: 1. better airbox, K&N panel filter 2. 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust, headers, hi flow cat 3. Higher dif ratio (3.7-4.11 personal preference) and LSD 4. CAPA flash tune with custom tune. This will cost you about $5,000 and will put you in the low to high 14's with around 180rwkw. After that, turbo is the only feasible way to go.

The BA has cam phasers that can alter the cams position relative to the crank. On a BA both cams are phased together. BF cams can be phased independently. Altering this point would do little other than mess with your economy in a fairly stock engine. I would be prepared to pull the head and start chasing some additional flow from a simple port clean up. I haven't had my BA head off yet but this is on the cards. Anything can be improved upon.

Wouldn't be the first person to try to tell me that a BA has vtec either!

Wouldn't be the first person to try to tell me that a BA has vtec either! hmm, didn't realise the low post count. But yeh, VTEC physically moves the position of the cam to vary valve timing hence the electronic lift control.

Hello all, look I'm shotting anyone down, but it would apear that someone lookin for some advice that is readily available from this site. To get more from your BA I would advise K&N filter, a good set of exstractors (headers) and I would tell you to put on a 2 1?2 exuast but refer to your local bloke 'cause bigger dose not really mean better. I got better sound and preformance than a mate that had a 3". All to do with back pressure or some s**t. Go too big and you lose pwoer.

Everything in my signature Plus, you could get a high stall, custom air intake, not to much has been done with engine rebulids/head porting etc yet....
