3" madrel bent piping from the box to throdle body, any gains from this compared to the stock intake?

you can put a ba intake on the ef but if you wanna go all out and fancy you can get the mandrel bent one which helps the breathing if youve got a cam and full exhaust

No.
I assume you are looking at bigmouth intakes or similar. A good, clean filter will yield similar results. Unless you have a large amount of head work to support the need for a larger/more expensive intake. If its bling factor and you have he coin to burn, go for it. Just don't expect huge results.

your restriction still lies in the throttle body, its the smallest diameter part of your intake and thats to increase air velocity.

Yeaa i have a full exhaust and the cam us coming soon i hope, so it makes it breathe easier and any difference in power or acceleration??

Yes exaclty wat i was getting at, no point getting it unless u have head work done to allow better breathing and performance, on the other hand it is an option to make ur engine better with little less restriction, if u know what i mean lol |

you will need more than a cam and exhaust to justify big $$ on an intake.
For example, I was running a 600" lift cam, had extensive porting and polishing, a set of extractors and a 2½" exhaust, I had the standard EF intake and Throttle body and it coped fine, I then experimented with a larger intake, no change, larger intake and throttle body, resulted in no noticable change in peak power but made the car dought or sluggish down low as the increase in intake and throttle body ment air velocity was reduced and the car had to "suck" more air than previously. I needed a larger volume of air traveling at the same speed as pre intake mods to get the same result, the engine had the develop this air speed and had to work harder to do it making it doughy. I talk from experience, but you may experience a different result again. There are better places to spend $$ than an intake. If your doing a cam, spend the money on valve springs instead of an intake.

I found better throttle response with a 3" mandrel bent intake. With a K&N air filter, response was definitely an improvement. Looks nice too in stainless steel, but the air won't be ambient anymore once you get to operating temp due to heat soak...but still better than stock in regards to response. Can't say I noticed any increase in horses.
Mine looks like this... I bought it because it was cheap and blinged up the engine bay nicely...power/response was an extra bonus.

You can get it ceramic coated at a guess, $150ish (considering it costs $250 to get extractors ceramic coated), but not sure if S/S is coatable. That will reduce the heat soak considerably, maybe not as much as plastic but close and you still have the bling factor of chrome, hi lustre or choice of black/blue colour. If cost wasn't a factor, by all means get a metal/stainless steel one made up, get it ceramic coated, make TB larger or get a larger one and it should help your car breath much better and probably give you a bit more horses...I wouldn't saw a lot though.

if you do a search on these you will find some one asked a question a few weeks ago about this stuff and a company makes them for the ef/el/au but an exhaust place could make them
