I undid the top half of my BBM a while ago so that I was able to tighten the bottom bolt on my GRA throttle body. Anyways, I was thinking about it to day and I remmeeeber seeing all the butterflies sitting up, so that air could pass through. But shouldn't they be closed until 3,000 rpm or round abouts?

Have a read of http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23928 , a bit long winded but some answers are there. The butterflies should close on startup, and open >3800RPM, so what you saw is normal.

the arm should be pointing down while idling, then at 3800rpm it should move up.
