im changing the oil and stuff on my ef, and rather be safe then sorry, so is the right spot the bar right behind the sump?the bar that has a hole in it? or the solid bar behind it?

correct but when the car is up chuck some axle stands on either side of the car coz u shouldnt ever work under a car that is only held by a jack safety first but yeh liftng the k frame is good

there a bit of an imprint in the k frame from the jack, nothing major is it ok? dunno if it from me jacking it up of someone else

oil filter was a b**ch, had to do by hand, couldnt get the wrench to grab it, might get one of the socket attachments next time the ring ones seem s**t, just hope i got the filter tight enough by hand

Filter is fine done by hand. It also means you should be able to get it out easy.

should need to jack it to do an oil change. if you do some of the oil will stay trapped in the sump. my EB is fairly low and i can service it without jacking it. and with the oil filter before you dump the oil turn the wheel full lock left. you can get to the filter through the wheel arch

yeh mine is stock height and i reckon i coulda got it without jacking it up, anyways all done now, thanks for the advice

I always do the up filter by hand, but they seem to tighten up over time. I use a tool to remove them.

Oil filters are meant to be fitted by hand. The pressure and constant change in temperature causes the filter to eventually tighten. I always remove and tighten by hand...only used a tool once on the EA.
Also the jacking point is correct, from the K-frame. If you don't want any imprints on it, you can use some rags/cloth/clothes and put it between the jacking head and k-frame. It will reduce the scratching/indentations to the k-frame...but you have to be careful not to put too many rags due to less grip for the jack and thus could slip as you jack it up. I usually put a towel folded in half and laid over the top. As mentioned before, oil should be drained on level ground. So you can jack it up to get to the filter and more room to remove sump bolt, but lower the car when you dump the oil. Or just simple drain the oil while the car is on the ground. Car too low? park the front wheels over some timber and this should give you enough height.

You should also Have Rubber between the Jack and the lifting point.
spreads the load on the head of the jack, stops imprinting on the K-frame and also reduces any chances of slipping.
