hey mark,

the (STAGE 4 170RwKw - $4,950.00 ) sounds pretty good to me.can auto's handle stage 4 engines alright? Much loss in power compared to manuals?

interested in having one sent down to melbourne in the near future , since the price is $4,950.00 , installed , what is the price if you send me one in a box?

$200 to have it sent down here is pretty good , any idea how much the freight insurance would be?

cheers :D

Hi lockz

The price remains the same instead of installation the freight takes its place, as far as insurance this is somthing you have to organize and different companies vary prices dramaticlly, generally tnt is the best for prices and time of deliveries are very punchual.
Not much power loss at all, but advised to run a large aftermaket oil cooler for the auto.
Look forward to speaking to you in the future.

Cheers (MARK)

Mark, just wondering what exactly comes with the 4k engine... is it the basic engine or does it come with intake exhaust etc. can you guestimate how much an install would cost (im in melbourne)

I don't know if there's been any mention of fuel consumption with Marks engines, but I just did a trip to QLD and my stage 4 engine (manual, stock ECU, 3.23 diff) averaged 8.2l/100ks over the 1100km trip - that's around 800 ks per tank on the stock ECU! :o

Yeh, if you can keep your foot off the loud pedal, these worked engines are extremely economical.

If I granny shift before 1800rpm, I can get 8L/100 around the city.. and thats while im blowing black smoke at idle :P

That's pretty good with 24lb injectors! How does it run with those other than blowing black smoke at idle ? :P Is that just with the stock ECU ? (you haven't got the motec connected and tuned yet have you ? )
I usually get 15l/100ks around the town with a mix of starting and stopping in traffic and a bit of sticking the boot in - and that's the same consumption as my old stockish engine.

Stock ECU, plus Unichip.. but the Unichip hasn't been re-tuned since the install of the Dev5a :P

How does it run otherwise with those injectors ?
I think mark said he tried them in his and it blew clouds of black smoke and wouldnt idle or run properly?
I've been offered a set of XR6T injectors (which I believe are 24lb?) but don't know how they'll go...

runs like a bag of s**t. Dont do it unless you have the means to tune the car properly.

lol, well that answers that question :P
I'm still thinking about getting a Greddy E-manage which may be able to run these bigger injectors happily. I'm not sure though... The unit is only $100 or so more than what I'd pay for a XR6 ECU so if it works I'd be laughing.

they're both probably a waste of time.

Look at the EMS 8860.

so.. from my understanding..

with the STAGE 1 115RwKw - $1,550.00 you take your motor out and in goes a new one with 115rwkw?

What mods are done to this engine?
