I'm sure there was a discussion on how ITS made their power in their kits versus how JMM did, ages ago.
Can someone explain this again and let me know if there's any better merits in which way they did it. For example I think JMM went with headwork or something whilst ITS goes a different way? I know SFA about engine building so any help on this would be appreciated. |

JMM is pure head/cam/intake
It's Performance does head/cam/intake and includes full bottom end rebuild. But power is always made in the head and cam!

I'd love to see cars with each comparable package from each place run each other.
Shugg's result in his other thread was quite impressive. |

I'd be up for that Other differences with It's engines is that they usually run higher compression and slightly bigger bore too. My compression ratio is a whopping 12.5:1 and around 4.2 litres in capacity. Of course you could do what Waggin did and get the best of both worlds

Loxx i would not be too caught up in the figures mate. It is burnt in my mind that you with a standard xr6 cam and chip and 141 rwkws ran a 14.6 1/4 mile. You have to ask really what is the improvement in times.A week before my last dyno run I scored 147 rwkws. Then 125 ,then that same day 112 rwkws on another dyno again. Today I had a ride in the twin turbo monaro from aps now that feels quick!!!

And no i aint going turbo to much stuffing around Give Mark at IT'S Performance a call and have a chat. Thats if you want to go down the re-build avenue. He is in Campbelltown. I have his Stage 3PS kit and trust his work implicitly. Well priced also (but that depends on what you perceive as "hurting the wallet"). With his kit and a Haltech Interceptor chip I got 171.7rwkw from an AUII XR6 VCT. Mark: 0415 727 951 Shugg |

Remember though, quality of workmanship along with rebuilding of the engine unlike JMM who just work your engine to the point its dead and needs to be rebuilt

I reckon JMM arent too bad. Most people are happy with JMM. The reason result vary is because too many people diy like me . The bottm end on the i6 engine will do 1 million killometeres when oil is added. They are as tough as nails. I knew the score when I bought parts.A full engine rebuild will always get better results when blueprinted and done from scratch

Like Useless said, I did this in my XR with stock cam, T series intake, exhaust and Unichip. Unichip $1150 Exhaust $1000 Intake $35 You may wanna do a change in cam rather than Unichip tho. I currently have a dev5 cam (no headwork) and am on 151rwkw. Wade are sponsers of this site + Mark is getting a good rap. Have a chat with them as well. |

Intake is already done just need extractors and as for hurting the wallet anything past $4000 may as well get a v8.
thanks for the info must be off now and get the bugger done.
