does it show the reds when u turn the igition on?? do they die when u turn the key to startt it? Check the tightness of the battery connections failing that the starter meotor may be rooted

between a pissweak battery/electrical system on a camry and cheap, thin jumper cables, i wouldnt really expect any miracles......
for a start, find a car with a decent electrical system (another falcon for instance) and if that doesnt help, find some different jumper leads the leads i have are f**k thick......... havent had any problem there! lol

also as a tip it is best to earth the -ve lead rather than run it directly to the battery as this can also cause probs. I jump started my car from a 86 magna, just had to the get the revs up a bit on the magna and she fired straight over

Probably just your jumper leads are not heavy enough to carry the current by the sound of it. Most of the cheapo ones you get from k-mart or Supercheap that say they can carry 200amps will melt way before they get close to that. If the jumper leads were getting warm when you tried to start it than thats your answer.
A Camry with a good battery should be able to jump start your car fine if the jumper leads are good enough. It has nothing to do with the other cars electrical system.

Ahh No! If every thing is good you can easily jumpstart a car with the engine off.

lol...some guy at sea world had a flat battery in a falcon, we had a flat tyre in our vy commo company car, so my aunt in her lanos borrowed our jumper leads and went of to the rescue...5 mins of trying...nothing...tried one last time on lanos still didnt work...rocked up with the commo...started within 20 secs

I tried to jumpstart a friends VY Commo, with the Fairmont, and with GOOD jumper leads.
Would NOT work. Tried several times with nought but a brutal crunching sound from a barely engaging starter motor. So we left it for ten minutes while we called RACV. Then, while waiting 40 minutes for them to rock up, we tried to start it one more time (no jumpstart).. Turned straight over. To this day, my only theory is it was protecting itself from an overload, yet it must have charged the battery slightly.. ??

ive jumpstarted my car with a 1L 3cyl suzuki. easy just connect the jumper leads up and dont try starting the flat car just rev the other car and let the battery charge for a few minuts or so then after that remove the jumper leads and try starting the flat battery car. this wont work if your battery is compleatly rooted. your big cars can have over 400amps running through the battery when starting. so sometime you need a larger capacity battery and thicker jumper leads to properly jump start a big car.
