hey guys,
im wanting to change the k-frame underneath the engine in an EL xr6, i had a hard impact and bent it, can anyone give me any info/tips on changing the frame?? i can get one for $110. mayb theres a thread on this site of someone whose done this before??

refering to your other thread, if your gonna take the engine out to do the oil pump, thats the time to do the K frame

Otherwise you need to be able to hold the engine up while you remove the K Frame, seeing as the engine is held up by the K Frame.

You could in fact support the engine, remove the old K Frame, whip off the sump and do what you need to do with the oil pump, put new K Frame back in, while leaving the whole lot still in the car.
