Has anybody fitted a K&N bed filter to there car? Are they worth the money? Is this brilliant 1 600 000km waranty still valid in australia?

Coming up to my 130 000km service, and my filter is ready for a change

If a bed filter is the same as the pannel filter then a lot of people here are running them...

I dont think the warranty will cover you a new filter at your 130 000km service its only if it falls apart, breaks etc

I think he was more saying that for this service, is it a good idea if he starts using a K&N filter,.

Yeah, panel filter. Sorry.

I just meant that the filter i have in there is a normal paper disposable one and it is starting to get dirty, thus time to replace. Wondering if it is worth the extra to go all out

by the K&N, and got o Ford and get yourself either an EL GT or AU2 XR8 snorkel, then you'll have some much better throttle response or better fuel economy, I picked up an extra 80Kms/tank for highway miles, round town, I always drive hard, so anjoy the extra response.

Ferk... 80kms extra on highway. Nice!!

Have read/heard a lot about the AU2 XR8 snorkel, is the el gt one easier to fit, are they much in the same same gains wise?

Yeah i think you will find most people here have done this mod. Im getting an extra 50kms to a tank (stop/start driving) as well, combined with the Xr8 snorkle and Higher ocatne fuel too. About 80+kms to a tank more on the long trips as well, it helps the car breath alot better but yeah.

My 2 cents

The K&N filter has a million Mile warrantee as well, they say that the filter will most likely last longer than the car itself  but yeah get the cleaning kit and filter oil and your bascially set.

Yeah, sounds good and all, but i dont like the idea of having having to drill into my car. Thats why the EL GT one sounds good.

However, if for the extra 10 dollars all gains are reversed, i would still use the AU one

Aww, my car, i dont want to go and make extra holes in it. :(

But, in the name of better fuel economy (with the added benifit of power :D ) i might do it anyway. You all twisted my arm into it!! :P

How much does the K&N actually cost, i just realised i dont know any prices!! But i am looking favourably upon it as well.

The filter can be between 100 to 150. Snorkel can be 30 to 50.

Well the K&N filter should be about $100 these days, and the AU XR8 snorkle cost me $36. And i got the Filter service kit for free. Value of $40. But yeah i think the prices of the AU XR8 snorkles have increased so i have read (seem to be a popular upgrade).

Go do it! Its worth it IMO.
