What type of heat shield should I enclose this pod with. I was thinking of using that cheap Clark Rubber heat shield foam & enclose the entire airbox area or sit it in the airbox.

The best heat shield is having it in the standard air big. its more legal & it won't affect your insurance if you're in a accident.

Std airbox or a custom aluminium shield to the underside of the bonnet.

get the shorter style pod and put it in your existing airbox.
what testing exactly did you carry out? dyno? i doubt very much that even if there was a difference you would actually be able to feel it...

I was under the impression that the shorter the distance from the pod to the throttle body the better....But I could be wrong. But without a doubt one of the biggest draw backs to a pod set up is the hot air issue. I've seen those polished heat shields in Autobarn that surround half of the pod....Are they sufficient enough?
