Hi All,

I own an N/A FG XR6, was lookin to get an exhaust, KnN & flash tune etc, spoke to a few shops here is brissy, best offer for the work was about $2600, worst $3500. Then i spoke to a bloke in Redcliffe who i have been told has a pretty good rep. When i asked him what he could offer, he told me id be wasting my money, he would be charging about the same sorta price as the other quotes, and gain little (15 or so KW) said i shoulda got a turbo lol ....

And because all of you forum readers are 100% better at tech stuff than me, id like to know your opinion, and what experience's you have had with similar upgrade's etc

Anyways, its good to see they arnt all sharks out there, and as i mentioned, Kudo's to Honesty! ;)

Cheers Fellas & Lass's

tune exhaust and a nice intake will make a notisable difference, it wont be a F1 but it would be keeping up with standard ba xr6t i imagin. supercharger would be the go if you threw a heap of cash at it

You might get 15rwkw... and better torque mapping. Will be a nice increase, and for $2500 thats not bad bang for your buck!

Cheers

I hope you mean camS, as in the b/f series having 2 of then in the 6's.

Personally, if I was spending that sort of coin, you caould get a complete turbo bolt on setup from a wreck, install it yourself, get the ECU flashed to suit. If there was any money left after that... Drink.

I would have thought drinking goes hand in hand with putting s**t into the car?

The other blokes gave you an honest price, as proof by the last bloke telling you he would charge about the same.

The difference is the first blokes took your word on what you wanted and assumed you had already done your research and knew what you wanted.

Nothing dishonest about that.

What's a snort turbo kit to suit worth? Would be a better bang for your buck upgrade I reckon.

Phongus, yep, a drink goes hand in hand with working on your car, or so my recycle bin suggests lol.

Cheers

try n track down a complete motor conversion from a F6, it will cost ya a packet but ull have a powerful engine, with potential to be upgraded further. and because its build to be turbo from factory its built to last

frm talking to the guys at bpt, when i had my g6e flashed i was told not to expect to much power gains, as it would already be stock tuned fairly well. they said i would get beeter fuel mapping, and throttle response more than anything. was only a generic tune though. when doing the airbox, change it to a v8 job and remove the restrictor, really helps with throttle response.
