I have an oil leak from a welsh plug near the power steering pump resorvoir. it only seems to leak under pressure ie. when u start it and go for a short drive. and there is oil all over the alternator and water pump, and it is getting onto all the pulleys and stuff making the belts squeak. is this bad? i will try to take some pics tomorrow

cheers guys

Yeah just fixed this on mine thought the head was leaking like the early EA's used to but was loose tensioner. Lost a lot of oil in a very short time due to the pressure behind the tensioner. All fixed now, oil's too dear to waste

No your both wrong, there are in fact both coolant and oil welsh plugs. Oil welsh plugs are the smaller ones on the sides of the block, they don't usually give any trouble because there is oil behind them not water(coolant) therefore they don't rust out.
