well i changed my oil a couple of weekends ago with the standard 15w40, last night it started leaking at work and left two fairly big puddles, as big a standard size bream haha. i was wondering if the oil could be too thin or i should use non synthetic as im coming up to the 300,000kms mark?
this motor is givin me s**t i tells yas

shouldn't leak no matter what oil your using, check where the leaks coming from and fix it..hopefully its just the sump plug and not the rear main

what filter did you use? i have used a coper filter before and had the same result, ages ago, there was a batch that went out with the incorrect sze seal, cause the seal was too small it didn't seal preoperly and leaked acordingly.
But yeah check your sump plug, and make sure your oil filter is nace and tight, can be easily overlooked.

yeah, i checked the sump plug its tight, the filter is a ryco and tight. i might bite the bullet and do another oil change with another filter brand and give the sump plug a good clean and new seal maybe.
ugh.

I think someone on here did that and started the car and lost a litre instantly. My sister's fiance did the same and lost 2L upon start up... So it could be or couldn't be since you didn't lose any during start up. Trace back to where the leaking is coming from and you'll know what's happened. phong =P~

no the sump plugs do not usually leak. I'm gonna lead towards it being your oil filter. and either a lack of seal, to many seals or the incorrect seal.
Remember the oil system is pressurised as it will effectivly pump it out as you drive.

i wouldnt do another oil change on it unless i knew where the leak was. check the rear main, oil filter, sump plug and sump gasket. give it a degrease take it for a run and it should show where the leak is good luck

Surely you would figure out where it's leaking from first?
