Can't help on how the kit goes.
But I would be interested in a Cam myself. Hence I would like to find out?

im swayin towards the jim mock kit, its $920 mail order, but i've heard of an AU I6 wagon with a similar setup to mine, pacemaker comps, 2.5" exhaust and the dev3hl kit puttin 144rwkw to the road. personally i dont think thats to bad for cam/exhaust mods.
ill be interested to see what mine makes as im also gettin bigger injectors, a HP4 chiptourque chip and a 3" manderal bent intake if i can find one, tickford snorkel and that'll just bout do me i think!. im hopin for maybe 160-165 RWKW. Team that with a 3.7 LSD and thats a fairly quick street car. Am i asking to much anyone think?

From the JMM cammed cars that Ive heard, they tend to have very good idle qualities, however I havnt had enough experience to tell the performance difference. Several people on the site have them, Spider GT being one of them running a DEV3 HL with race series headers in his ED. It doesnt run too bad but could probably go better with a little fine tuning which he is working through at the moment. Im sure he will give you his 2c worth before too long

Hi Guys,
Yeah i run the JMM Dev3HL Cam kit on my ed but i also am running a AU XR6 Head and running gear. The idle of the car is little rough but not that much it has a nice idle to it needle doesnt jump all over the place unless your having fueling troubles. If tuned and dialled in right expect a power samll power pickup around 2-2.5 rpm then the cam really kicks in between 3-3.5 rpm and keeps pulling till revs out. Is a good cam if you want a bit of power and bit more torque down low my only advise is give it time and over the space of the first 2-3 weeks check the dialling of the cam. Any more questions feel free to private message me or email me at spider_one_aus@msn.com Cheers Spider P.S. Also bit better fuel econemy to if not a heavy foot. |

Sweet as, im gonna go the kit then. Im a heavy foot btw
also will the mods i mentioned kick it to about 160-170 rwkw? Im just after a ballpark figure as im not spending a hell of alot. My mate is gettin rid of his EF and im buyin the chip for $500 and the injectors for bout $150-$200. All up on the engine i will have spent bout $2000-$2200, plus the fitting of cam, injectors and extractors. (comp extractors/2.5" exhaust, dev3hl cam kit, bigger injectors, 3" intake/snorkel/chiptourque HP4 chip)

Na unfortunatly your probably only looking around the 130-140rwkw mark. With a p'n'p you will get some more out of it but its kinda hard to say how much as every one ports heads slightly differently.

A little off topic. Are there any good drive-in drive-out cam places in SA?

Yeah your garage and a cam from JMM. Its a peice a piss to do, even inexperienced it will only take you a couple a hours. The only tools you need are a socket set, torque wrench and a workshop manual.

are you gunna go a vernier cam gear, cause if not, you would have to really be trying to stuff it big time cause you dont actually remove the cam gear from the timing chain. You can also tie wire it there for a little peice of mind
