Hi all, I've got an EB's that seems to be losing heaps of coolant whenever I use the air con, the temperature sensor climbs like crazy with the air con on and afterwards, I open the garage the next day with a pool of coolant coming out of the front left region. Where could it be coming out of? Could it possibly be an air con regasing issue? I'm just not too sure I'm just worried cos the temp was so high the car stalled in the middle of a turn, lost powersteering and nearly crashed into a car.. neary had to wrestle the wheel to get it to miss.
thanks in advance.

is that front left as in drivers side? but standing at the front of car! anyway check heater tap, heater hose on passanger side (steel one from thermostat housing) basically check all hoses and also check radiatior cap by pulling up overflow hose and holding it near ear and squeese the top radiator hose when the car is cold. you should not hear air being sucked back and forth. one more thing the thermo fans should come on when the ac is operating. if no leakes are found have the cooling system pressure tested as it could be head gasket or welsh plugs.

thanks in advance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If I was you I will be replacing that radiator cap 2 start with bro however, EA-EB-ED's had a slight problem with the radiators blocking at the lower section of cores. Everything is fine untill you put some extra stress on the system eg air con. and then everything goes wrong. You can see heaps of this models at the side of the road on a hot day. Also the reason for so many head jobs

I've found the problem... I think, there's about a 2 cm split in one of the rubber hoses. I've taken a pic of it. and don't complain about the dirty engine bay... haven't had time to clean it. I've taped it up for now but will replace the pipe, but I'll take it to get the radiator checked and air con regassed. Can anyone suggest a reputable place in the eastern suburbs of melbourne? Any idea how much an air con refas would cost?
thanks I want to upload the pic but I can seem to find the option...

try this link and see how we go, the pipe that's got the cut is the one pretty much in the centre of the pic, it is below the pink pipe, it's got a streak of water still running down it. I hope it's clear enough. thanks p.s. to see the image, u've got to go to the webpage and click on the image, it's the only one there.
