Well guys i decided to fit a Chiptorque chip into the AU a few weeks back anyways ive done a couple of dyno runs also i thought the chip gives you a 5-8kw gain not in my case but the car is going back to looked at and hopefully fixed.

1*Standard form VCT-168kw 4-12-2004 114rwkw-457nm mdx dyno-cresent motors
2*SS induction-redline filter-catback 2.5-BA i6 intake-125rwkw mdx dyno-cresent motors
3*SS induction-redline filter-catback 2.5-BA i6 intake-133.8rwkw Redcliffe dyno=dyno dynamics
4*SS induction-redline filter-catback 2.5-Advance headers-3" pigpipe-132.6rwkw-Sureflow exhausts 7-11-05=dyno dynamics
5*SS induction-redline filter-catback 2.5-Advance headers-3" pigpipe-chiptorque chip-125.4rwkw 19-12-05 Sureflow Exhausts=dyno dynamics

To put matters worse i got let off work yesterday so future work will have to wait.

Different days, so you can't compare too much.

However, keep in mind that without the chip torque chip you were probably leaning out in the high revs. Although this give you high power its not good for you car. Now you'd be running richer, this means better for your engine but less power.

Which chip?
I assume it was a custom tune live on the dyno. If not send chiptorque the before and after dyno graphs and they can reflash it for free. (they did this with me for driveability.)

Do you have auto? What was the trans temp, it makes a big difference on the dyno.

Hold on....Just realised...You've still got the standard cam there haven't you?

Ignore what I said.

I'd think its a 3" intake from the airbox to the TB.

you should run it down the 1/4 mile, thats a better indication of power gain than a dyno imo.

Sorry to hear bro, hope all will work out for you.
get them to increase the timing abit to compensate for rich mixture, if they can. while you're at it, tell them to change your shift points & firmness for the 1/4

all that excess fuel is just begging to be ignited at the right time.

Shift points and firmness already done i upped the pressure so now it chirps 2nd and sometimes third.

First thing is the timing and the actaul tune of car will be getting looked at first before i go anywhere.

yeah, after awhile you start hearing clunking/thumbing noise's. I've turn down my S5 pressure to a comfortable level. its bloody sick in a semi wet road. gives the commies & who ever something to think about before they stage you on the next lights. we all end driving of the lights slowly without a challenge.

What you talking about? Leaner mixture = more power? You silly person. Read a book.

Best power = 12:1 - 13:1 AFR on average.... depends on engine and aspiration. Safe for engine, good for power.
Richer than that = less power, dirtyer engine, worse fuel economy.
Leaner than that, less power, increased combustion temps, bad for engine.

So what I'm saying is that because of the chip, he is now getting more fuel in there to compensate for any mods. However, because its an off the shelf item, they can't get it right and its more likely that it'll be getting too much fuel where as before, it was a leaner mixture.

I'm not saying Over-lean, just leaner than too rich.
Is that clearer?

I agree that you want a balance. Not too lean not too rich.
