Hi guys. This is my first post after just buying my first ever Ford, a 96 Fairmont 6.

These things are addictive huh? All the tweaks and improvements you can make. First off the block are better lights and AU injectors.

Si I just swapped the injectors and one of the new ones is ticking really loudly. Is the injector stuffed or could I have done something wrong? She's running really rough, maybe like on 5?

What should I do?

are the injectors new or used???

what you can do is, while the engine is running pull of one injector plug at a time and see which one doesn't change idle.. this will tell you which injector isn't supplying fuel...

Second hand. :( Ok, done that. Can I replace the bad one with an EF injector or is it a silly idea to have one different? Hopefully it'll do until I get a replacement for it.

For the 90-100 bucks it costs me here... Having them all cleaned and serviced before installing them is your best bet... At least they'll be all flowing the same then and have a good spray pattern as well as new O rings... It one is blocked lord only knows what the rest are like...

Cheers,
Tim

As above, and find out which one isn't working. Then remove them all and check the hole into the manifold is clear and nothing is blocking the hole. Like the little plastic cap from the original injectors....
If there is nothing blocking the hole, then have the full set cleaned and tested. Put the old ones back in so you can drive it, if needs be.
Good luck.
8-)

Give the faulty injector a few taps with a screw drover whilst plugged in an running, sometimes they need some convincing
