Hi guys,
I managed to pick up an NF cluster for the right price, and I will be fitting it to my GLi in the coming months. I need to get the low coolant sensor however, and i'm not sure about what parts i need. I found this: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :IT&ih=018 whilst cruising about, but it doesnt have the white "thread" bit which locks it into the side of the coolant tank. can i get one of those white bits from somewhere? and most importantly, can i retrofit it to my low spec bottle? or will i have to buy a new one? I am also assuming that i will have to run the wiring for it, as my car doesnt have ABS. Correct? While we are here, the low washer bottle level sensor, I'm not too stressed about that one way or the other, but does anyone know about fitting the sensor into that? or what voltage the cluster sees when the level is "okay" so i can just turn it off? Cheers, Nic |

better off just getting a good clean bottle assembly from the wreckers with a sensor already in it

the reason i am happy to stick with mine is i have a good bottle at the moment, and the sensor is cheap.
having said that, i might go for a spin to some wreckers this weekend and see what they want for the bottle with sensor. |

Regarding the coolant sensor, I have fitted a sensor into a standard EBII bottle by: 1. Drilling a hole and using polyeurethane/polypropyline okay glue. 2. Shoving it in and letting it set. Not leaking yet but not the most professional finish ( not usine either the screw in plug or rubber grommet ).
I looked at my local wrecker but all the bottles ( wouldn't sell me the sensor alone ) were very dirty and I've read here they're hard to clean. Also the sealant where the wiring went into black sensor body itself ( able to be seen from the screw in "thread bit " plug ) on many bottles was all crumbly. I used a general Loctite sealer/glue which set over a few days for mine. Wrecker wanted $55 for bottle and sensor fitted.

I brought a new coolant bottle and sensor off Ebay and got the O ring with the sensor.
Then brought the white nut from Ford. Cost about $150 all up |
