Go to the wreckers and get an AU earth strap.
They're better than the EF/EL ones and theres an addone that goes from the block to the cross member.

The more eaths the better.

Also change the oil sender unit or at least clean and tighten the plug.

My old man is a Ford Mechanic... He told me when the EF/EL and cars were current model, they were instructed by Ford that if a car came in reading low oil pressure that they were to insert a certain value resistor in series with the wiring to lift the gauge... They never actually had low oil pressure... Just a terribly calibrated gauge...

You can always check it buy adding a mechanical gauge in the pressure line and disproving the dash gauge...

Cheers,
Tim

The sender unit diaphragm might be ruptured. You'll find fairly quickly the sender might start leaking oil.
Replace the sender as mentioned, or throw an oil press s/w as a temp measure.

My car did the same, changed the oil to a 15w60 anda motorcraft z9 and it sits on around 2when warm at idle.
Was running 15w40 and a valvoline filter.
