My car has developed a ticking noise... I can only hear it at low RPM
(900-1200) and while the car is in gear. It doesn't happen while revving in P or N.

From the driver's seat, it seems to be coming fromthe passenger side of the car.. I don't think its the injectors but I'll try the stetho screwdriver later to make sure. I'd say its more coming from the auto box..

Any ideas?

i have the same sound. my dad owend a brand new 97 falcon, which developed this ticking sound. had it replaced, was some fuel solenoid, which in time becomes noisy, was told it means no harm. but can drive you up the wall. if it bugs you. less than $100 to replace it. if you are that worries about it.

I too have the ticking coming from the passenger side in my manual EA! It only happens occasionally, usually only going uphill and at low rpm and increases with rpm up to around 1200.
I dont know if there is any fuel solenoid in the EA, there is owever a vacuum operated pressure relief valve on the injector rail, perhaps it could be that?
I just live with the ticking sound!
