Hey guys i have a problem with me gas Converter, when the car is cold the gas converter freezes over about 5 mintues after starting

Im wondering if its got something to do with the Water Pump
Due to the fact that the converter needs to have water running through it or else it shuts down the car

Any1 got some suggestions?

Check Your Thermastat the plunger at the bottom of it should have to little holes drilled out of it to allow coolant bypass to the convertor

Make sure the coolant is full. Also ensure the hoses arent blocked running to and from the converter. The converter should be mounted lower than the coolant reservoir to avoid air pockets in the converter.

Hey just in reply to Joolz

the converter is mounted from a bracket that bolts to the top of the Suspension Mounts Drivers Side

So i guess the coolant reservoir is lower than the converter

im gonna try to insert a pic here

Not sure if you can make it out but i had to reduce the image size for the site

The converter is just in front of the Master Brake Cylinder

you still have air in converter to freeze, pull one hose offand lower it untill water can run out, then re fit,do same on other one-make sure heater is on start car,the hoses should get hot, they are a pain to bleed, may take aa few days, every time you think you got it the water level drops in overflow, takes me a week.use anti corossion additive-i use nulon at home and can get -5 deg overnight, cars start ok on lpg.

Hard to tell by the pic but basically if no water in the converter to heat it it will freeze. It looks to be level with the reservoir if not a little higher and may be worse depending on the gradient you are parked. If possible mount it lower with the hoses below, even a few cm will make a difference. In a way freezing with low or no water is good as its harder to cook the engine as it will stall!!!

My radiator light keeps coming on 2 after a couple of minutes of driving

Would this have something to do with this?
