Good luck finding one, a year ago they couldn't give them away, now they sell them in gas conversion kits for a fortune!

My EF wagon's dual fuel & gets 450kms to a tank, 65litre usuable tank..

depends on how well gas is tuned, and the type of mixer used. can be a 2>4rwkw loss, or MUCH more, realy depends on the setup/tune

and how do i go about making sure i have a good tune then, i want to make sure i loose the least amount of power as possible as im thinking of going gas if i can get rid of my fuel tank and put the gas tank there, the gas tanks arnt as heavy as the original fuel tanks either right?

With LPG, everyone is talking about Dual Fuel! Im assuming thats when you can switch between LPG, and petrol?

Um do you have to get dual fuel? like whats the point of having both?

It used to be that you needed dual fuel in case you couldn't find and LPG pump when you needed one. But nowadays it is not a problem. I just went straight gas and it is fine. Takes a bit longer to start ie 4-6 cranks unlike the usual 2. But you save a tonn of extra weight in the boot and don't loose any space. As for me because I have a wagon I can put 2 gas tanks under the floor.

whats the maintenance like with the LPG, do u have to service ur tank when u get ur car serviced?

in vic the gas tank needs to be tested every ten years. usually about $200 drive in and out.

the tuning of the system needs to be done on a regular basis for best results but his is only about $100. every time your car runs a little s**t, and again the system installed and quality of gas used will determine tune intervals.

You normally get a free 1000k tune as the rubber diaphram will stretch quite a bit in the first 1000k's. After that it depends. You can tune them by ear yourself just like an old carby. Suppose it depends on your financial situation.

But generally speaking as the diaphram stretches your tune will change.

Well is there any way that can install the lpg gas tank where the fuel tank is?

I am having the same problem has "Razor" in which i dont really wanna lose half my boot space, but will if i have to!

Um, wat are the different fuel tank sizes?

Do you really lose alot of performance?

If it is a sedan you have two options. 1 is find a toroidal tank that fits insdie the spare tyre well, the other it to cut out the spare tyre well and weld the floor flat and install the tank under floor. If wagon it is much easier. Just pull out fuel tank and make up a false floor and mount LPG tank there. Still no spare wheel though.

how big is the tank? and would it take up my whole boot?

toroidal tank - so it will fit where my spare tyre is hey?

The tank in my wagon is small at 65l. That means I can only fill it with about 50l of actual gas, depending on the temp.

yes thats entirely correct, i forgot about that, if you have 50L of gas (theoretically) and 50L of fuel, you would go through the gas ALOT quicker, these are all the things that have to be weighed up, unfortunately an extra 200kg tank in the back doesnt do much for fuel economy either, and gas is a little less performance as fuel, especially high octane fuels. In a Falcon it's around 70 kg.

Tanks are around 30 kg, and LPG is half a kilo per litre.

I've been running LPG since 1990 and all i can say is yes it's worth it.
Best part is when you're broke, $10 of gas actually gets you somewhere, $10 petrol barely moves the guage lol.
