i have a set of "Motivator" headers, but i think its exactly the same as Lukey
They work very well, ive made up to 156KW with them so they cant be too restrictive? Sound is great with a single muffler |

AFAIK the Motivators are the old Walkers. Lukey bought Walker sometime ago, and so now the Motivators are sold as Lukey extractors. I had a set on mine, then switched to Pacey Comps, no comparison. Don't waste your time or money with the Lukeys. |

If you have a look at the various extractors avaliable, there's a lot of differences. Differences in the pipe sizes - primaries, secondaries and the outlet (some are only 2 1/2" outlet e.g. HM Headers, while most are 2 1/2"). Then there's the pipe configuration some are Tri-Y (Genie and Pacies), while the cheaper lot are 6 - 2 - 1. Then there's also the bends, some are mandrel while others e.g. Wildcats, are press-bent. There's also the length of the pipe, i.e. the Pacey Comps which are tuned length so supposebly the pipes should all be the same length, hence why they squiggle so much like spageti. A lot of factors that make the differences between the various brands. |

isnt tri-Y and "6 into 2 into 1" the same thing? |

No, Tri-Y is 6 - 3 - 1. As 2 pipes are going into 1 to form a Y shape. Since there's 6 pipes to begin with this would occur 3 times (6 / 2 = 3). |

Tri-Y means the primaries go into separate collectors, but on this basis:
The principle behind tri-Y design is that the most effective port separation occurs by pairing the cylinders that are firing f@rt apart, in other words 180 distributor degrees (or a complete crankshaft revolution) apart |

I like my interference style genies.. not as high a power peak, but a broader power band that is best for day to day driving.. plus my car sounds better then any non blown I6 I've heard. (probably louder too since it has only one straigth though muffler).
The Genies end in a 3" pipe, which I've had joined to a 3" hi flow cat and a mandrel bent exhaust with above mentioned straight through muffler.. I chirp second on the auto without meaning to now.. its very cool. (be even better when I get the el motor in) rgds Franki |

nahh i think my mates worked ef with a single hotdog would be louder. it literally hurts your ears, much like a speedway car. its louder than my exhaust, which only has one muffler. |

LOL!
I've been worried about the cops so much that when I see one, I idle past so they don't hear the exhaust note and loudness, but even at idle it throbs, so I was thinking of adding one of those straight through 2.5 inch tailpipe mufflers just to take the edge off... (plus to reduce the drone at low to mid speed.) |

genies are awesome for what they cost. best bang for your buck headers bar none. Ive had a set before and they do deliver a stunning note. they throb at low revs, growl in the middle and scream like a banshee up top! makes you feel all tingley. But I would personally buy the 4480's because Id rather get top of the line, and pay the extra.
