Im after a cam for my el i want it to have a noticable lumpy idol not way over the top though i just dont know what cam has a nice lump to it?? i was told the wade 977b was lumpy so i got one and tried it out but wasnt lumpy enough. its auto 6cyl with a brand new head. im going to get a stall converter for it, what would be the best rpm to stall at for a lumpy cam 2500? and also head mods im guessing valve springs as its just a gli..

cheers.

valve springs are a must.

you want lump and lots of it, find something with about 580 thou lift and a 114 LSA,
Your gonna want a 2800 stallie then as well. You want the proper lumpy idle, you need a cam in the valley and 2 more cylinders.

This is a CMS stage 3 cam, my current exhaust makes the idle sound rattly but you can definitely hear the lumpiness.

Haha yeah nothin beats the sound of a camed up v8.
I reckon I'm gunna go with the cms3. Nice rims same as what's on my el.
What valve springs you recommend to go with the cms3 and also where to buy them off the net or something? Also can I just buy a stall converter off eBay to suit ef to au trans or is that a bad idea?
Finally one more question can someone fill me in on this vernia gear do I need it with this cam and what's it do.
Cheers.

Lumpy idle comes from cams with an LSA of 110* to 112*......108* is over the top for street.
A change of diff gears will be needed too.....3.45's, 3.7's, and lower

my stage 3 cam untuned is very lopey, thats why when I sell it I always recommend a custom tune ..... we did an AU VCT again with my stage 3 VCT spec cam & made 166rwkw with 460 nm of torque, usall mod were pacy comps 2.25'' exhaust stock air box, BA throlte body pipe & tuned with SCT..

All of my cams work & there being out the for years with minor mods & a good tune we've made some fast E series in the past..

cheers
