can anyone reccomend a few places in brisbane to get machining work done?
I am also chasing up a gasket kit for an ef falcon along with an au head gasket. can anyone recommend brands and where best to buy them from?

I can't help you with Machining but, you could buy an AU VRS, most of the gaskets are the same except the Tappet cover gasket, the rest will fit.

Buying an EF gasket set is pointless as you will be getting a Head Gasket you won't use.

so if i just get an au gasket kit everything will fit? Im mainly after the au head gasket for my rebuild and of course i need all the other gaskets along with it.
