whats a rocket cover?
Well there isn't much room above the engine to fit a filter and pipe to the throttle body. Why dont you just install the second battery in the boot?

run a pipe from the throtle body down through the guard under neath the where the standard battery is n put a pod on it....
will get the cold air from the brake duct to. will b tight near the alternator n power steering pump but it will work |

a rocket cover would be a cover over the said rocket.
how about a gt shaker off a ba gt. it does every thing u want.

3 options.
do your idea, worry about heatsoak theres a forum meber that makes bbm's with the throttle facing the other way. 3. there is a white falcon on this club that has your idea, but without a scoop, he has his POD filter half sticking out of the bonnet. |

Love to find out who makes the bb manifold with the t-body facing the other way. It would be way more efficient at a guess.

I have this in my EA ... and did it 4 years ago .. still running it now. It would be the best mod if you went turbo. [/img] |

So yes ... having your air cleaner out the bonnet is ok and you get good clean air ... and also get a soggy filter when it rains if your not care full .
Having your t/b turned around was a good throttle pick up and felt good... I used to have the filter under the guard in front of the tyre. If you are thinking of turboing then I would do this so it has way better air flow |

Bloke at drag day with the cortina, cant remember the name however he said he'll be posting up a thread soon after he installs it into his mates car.
He does a very good job of it too, looks like it was released from factory like that.

like i said if u want an alternate spot to put ur air filter so it cant b seen ur gonna hav to go under a guard..ur gonna put the other battery where the airbox is ...i hav done this so i could put my filter where the battery used to be....so the air dosent hav to travel as far to the turbo...
ur gonna hav a battery there to and u dont really hav any more room for an airbox in the engine bay.. so go under 1 of the guards.....drivers side would be the easiest. yes it illegal but there isnt much more option....the shaker would look cool for sure.....but then you got to cut a hole, mount it some how, connect it some how, and make sure it wont get wet when it rains. if ur filter is down under a gaurd yeah it mite get a bit we from spray when driving in the rain. but theres alot less chance of it getting sucked into the engine.......aposed to it soaking down into a filter through a scoop. i wouldnt go putting a filter in the space above ur exhaust either....unless u dont mind a heap of heat soak |
