It's not leaking power steer fluid from the switch is it?
Oil at the rear could be rocker cover gasket or headgasket. Best bet is to give it a really good de grease and then start looking after a drive

yeah sorry i posted it twice in different sections, and thanks for the advice, wit hthe EF/EL engine conversion you are saying you can swap them and put my instake manifold onto the EF/EL engine?
also i have run injector cleaner through with 98 octane a full tank, the first few start caused alot of black smoke and some black liquid to squirt out the exhaust

Yes mate they are basically the same engine, but an EF/EL engine is a bit more refined, you just re use all your accesories, alternator, power steering, manifolds, the whole job lot on the EF/EL motor.

no alternator wont work it has a different pulley

You use EVERYTHING off the EA motor, all the belts, use the EA pulleys, the whole lot. The EA alternator fits the EL block and retains it's EA pulley, you use the EA balancer and tensioners and alt bracket the whole lot.

then why not just use EVERYTHING off the el block ? i sure know i would rather use a 110amp alternator over the EA alternator especially if i'm running speakers amps subs etc
