Telling you now, throttle response is noticably better with it removed for every day driving.. Its ugly, big and if given oppotuinty im sure majority of the V8 owners would swap to a smooth, tidy looking pipe since the price wont be as high as the I6 ones, alot less to them. Why dont u put up a thread gauging the interest, like you did with the I6 ones, took ages to get off the floor but you've gotten here eventually! Goodluck with it all tho.

once the 6 cylinder ones are done it is a possiblility that we may gauge the v8 intakes

i dont mean to sound pesimistic but seeing you are going for the benefits of mandrel bent, why dont you go for a non concetina(spelling?) style right angle. Seems like you're wasting the benefit of mandrel bent by sticking something to disrupt the airflow around that bend. I know its for ease of replacement but a smooth rubber joint is not that expensive to replace and lasts ages anyway.

I'll be looking to replace the ribbed rubber with some smooth stuff. Maybe that silicon crap that the ricers use on there presure cookers

Isn't that rubber bit in there to allow for some flexing if things move ?? Edit: haha post "69" |

Yes you'll need some where for it to flex. Your engine will move as it torques, and one end of the pipe is connected solidly to the throttle body, and the other end is connected solidly to the air box that is mounted to the body. Something is needed to flex, otherwise your airbox would be ripped off when you gave it a boot full.

straight rubber joint will still flex
