For all those people that have an AU please take note there are a few problems you should be aware of

i. mounting holes on the TB pipe do not line up, I had to drill them bigger
2. the air box pipe bolt hole is out but after loosing the airbox and with some force it fits.
3. the TB pipe hits the bonnet in an unacceptable manner.
I think I will be able to fix this prblem by bending the mounting brackets upward which should lower the intake pipe sufficiently.
4. to fit the intake pipe to the trottle body you will need two 80mm clamps and a 5cm length of 75mm inside diametre flexable pipe.

Question ?
has any body else had this problem or am I just unlucky

The intake looks pretty cool and I hope it makes a small difference as a bonus.

Thanks for taking the time to manufacture these intakes , its appreciated. :)

My existing rubber elbow hose to the TB should go on alright shouldn't it?

Scratch that 8-)

The only extra cost will be a 3 inch sleeve and two clamps to connet the intake to your throttle body which cost $15 from autobarn. Make sure it's not hitting your bonnet 100% before your test drive it as mines now got scratches on it

Hi Janek,
We have contracted a vendor to make these, FTG has made no money of this project and Darren has gone out of his way to get these done to give something back to the members that have supported us.
I have several members on standby that are definently wanting one (silver au/el) - so if you would like to pull out now with a full refund now you may do so. However once the item is dispatched we cannot offer a refund

For EL owners note:

Throttle body opening is an OVAL shape measuring 85mm at its largest point.

Autobarn have nothing for us EL owners. Try Purple Pig!

Cheers,

I have a few more suggestions regarding the fitment of the intake.
Mine is fitted now and sitting fine, after the following mods and unfortunately it got scratched from hitting the bonnet.

Drilled out the mounting holes to 10mm

Bent mounting brackets upwards about 10-15mm, this has lowered the intake enough so it doesnt hit the bonnet.

Be warned bending the brackets will cause the paint to crack

I had to loosen the airbox mounting bolts to prevent the box/lid from cracking under the stress of being connected to the new intake pipe that doesnt fit quiet correctly.

Another thing I have noticed is that the trottle/cruise control cables are hard up against the intake, I hope they dont wear through.

After these few mods the intake looks good and I am happy, now its fitted correctely.
