i heard something about tricking the auto into thinking it's in Neutral.
anyone confirm this?

sorta - theres 3 plugs on the inhibitor switch for the auto. One plug is starter inhibitor, one is gear selection to ecu, and one is reverse lamp wiring. U only want to plug in the one for the gear selection, im sorry i dont know what it is off the top of my head. Also u want to select it to drive, not neutral, this is because if the car thinks it is in neutral, it idles up higher so as it can cope with the higher load when u select "drive" with an auto car.

There is only 2 plugs on the inhibitor switch. One is gear selection and one incorporate both Park/Neutral and reverse lamps.

If you can get the inhibitor switch off the old box without destroying it (and it's unlikely) you can disect it to trick the ecu into thinking it's in a particular gear. Gear selection is the lower plug all you have to do is select the gear you want and measure the resistance then bridge out the connector with the right value resistor.

How this relates to tricking the auto ecu I can't comment on.

I managed to get the inhibitor switch off and managed to drop some solder on it. Worked a treat!

Have a chat to Jaysen from RPD.
I'd rather by something from a business that has customer support and satisfaction.
