hi ive just done a head gasket and waterpump on my eb2 and now i can hear a knock on the motor for the first time i started it. Sounds like the exhaust side of it it sounds just like a metalic knock dont know what it is. If anyone could explain what this is would be good thanks

id take the rocker cover back off and have a look. were all the hla's (lifters) sitting right. u can run it for a few seconds with the cover off, just dont rev it. may spot the noise easier.

the hla's might have leaked all their oil out,meaning when you first run it again they need to fill with oil and bleed the air out again,can take a few seconds idling up to about 10kms of driving,if still noisy after that maybe theres a problem.

yeah i think ur right spac it seems to have stoped after abit of a run on the highway sounds pritty normal now thanks
