haha yeh mate, my el does exactly the same when you have your foot to the floor, especially on petrol when it accelerates harder

most 4Ls with "awesome supercharger whining sounds" after a cam install are a short time away from a timing chain tension related failure
 my 5L makes a really loud ear piercing supercharger type whine and a PSSHT when you back off, i dunno what it is, might be related to the vortech in the engine bay, not 100% sure?

my old 6 had dying alternator bearings, that made that kind of sound..never thought about it as a good thing, though...

I used to drive to sydney and back everyday in a 1.3 litre deawoo, i ripped that car so hard just trying to get it up to speed, and reving it out in all the gears. After a while i started making that turbo or supercharger noise. I doubt its a good thing.
