Has anyone done mods to an ef throttlebody and is it simple enough to do it yourself?

Throttle bodies are pretty much big enough, but people have reduced shaft thickness, and also polished the intake (internal). But thats about it.

i havnt done anything but id think it would be a thing you replace and to make it worth it have a differant size hole going into the manifold if not a whole new manifold

ok as i posted i jus saw the last post and i dont know why you would polish anything on the inlet yer ok make it bigger for more air flow but polishing reduces air turbulance ok it wont make that much differance but if thats going to do anything it wont make it better...
if its mumble jumble you think im dribbling well its knowen that when port and polishing a head the port both sides and only polish exhaust side as to leave the rough suface on the intake to encorage air turbulance which helps air to mix with fuel entering the combustion chamber....

Pre throttle body there is no mixing but, and the smoother surface allows the air to flow free into the manifold.

i understand but if u have turbulance before its only going to increase...
this is why companys try selling these things that go into ur inlet pipes that swirl the air(i do see the point but for the gains waste of money) also seen a few manufactures have something like this as a standard thing in the inlet tubing to help create turbulance

I seen a article the other day in an older Street Machine magazine (Ford Edition ) and there was a guy in NSW making bolt on manifolds with the twin throttle bodys, maybe that could be something to look in to??

Im not 100% sure im not a avid reader of street machine, but it was at my mechanics workshop it was a ford only, it had a 1932 ford hi-boy, with a efi flathead, and it also had the roman auto-tek falcon ute with gullwing doors
Sorry mate thats all i can remember But i can remember it was a manifold for the V8, and it would unbolt the top half (plentium) and replace it, also making custom fuel rails to suit and it all fits under the bonnet, plus i think they said on the dead stock car they did it on, it gained 12-18rwkw. So really u do your head, cam, ecu you should get yourself some good results. |

there are a few people with twin throttle bodies, do a search for "twins" it should find you the best ive seen. i think that is about the only REAL thing you could do to them. CAPA do bigger TB's, but they are expencive for gains.
i have thought about this lng and hard, and talked to my mechanic, he says its a waste of money for your gains, best off getting aftermarket computer (or chip) and getting the biggest damn cam you can find.
