wow, I was so close he he...
Just as a note on the fuel pump, a Walbro 255 L/h can be had for pretty cheap... used to be sold on here... but check on eBay, as I don't think they are sold here anymore. Fuel reg - XR6? 300kPa enough? Cheers

bogan393 wrote: Yea that $2500 turbo is fairly small but for 6psi it would be ok. At 6psi the stock fuel system wont be overly happy and at a minimum id suggest a fuel pressure regulator and preferably a bigger fuel pump. But for $4000 id say you would be able to have that kit installed and possibly tuned depending how much you do youyrself and if u get a intercooler etc. 160-180rwkw would be easily expected from this setup.
how much is it for a better fuel pump? and what 1 would i get. cheers |

Yea im running a walbro in mine, they flow well but are known for breaking because of their small size and large flow rates. As for fpr i would go something fairly big. A member on fordforums had alot of sucess running a non intercooler setup with a boshce 044 fuel pump and malpassi 2:1 rising rate fpr. around 220rwkw iirc. Alot of other members run 12:1 fpr's also.

Interesting comment on the Walbro's. Prices on pressure regs and pumps - ebay is your friend. Just be careful with who you buy, and postage prices!
Good Luck!

The walbro fuel pumps are meant to be a direct bolt in for the intank fords.. The ones for supras must just come with the stuff for a supra (fuel lines, sock etc..), try and find one for a ford.
Cheers

With my Snort Kit, I'm running between 10-15 psi, and all is working fine. I'm also running a walbro fuel pump and they are an easy replacement for the standard ford pump. they fit fine in the originally position.

Also you need to factor driveline into your budget. i See you have a 5 speed so with 180rwkw if your box is in good nick then it should hold but upgrading the clutch and a lsd are deffinately needed.

......and the ITS route looks better and better. Seriously dude a turbo set-up is the go for bang for your buck especially when you start thinking about big HP but if you want to keep it under $3500 and not have any reliability issues than go with ITS. Price includes either fitting or postage too. You'll get nearly 200fwkw and 400fwnm from this engine.

Turbo is costly, but with the ability of upgradability later on. Standard compression is a minimum for a turbo setup, and lower would be ideal for higher boost applications. But if $3500 is your dead set budget, then NA that money will give you some nice boogie behind the tread.
Don't be put away by the fact that Mark is here in NSW, he has done many interstate jobs. Cheers

I agree with the last couple of posts. Go one of ITS engines (keep it NA). Especially on a budget (projects such as the one I recently undertook have a habit of blowing out). Stick with NA (maybe have a bit of bottom end work done so you can upgrade to a turbo later). Or as mentioned previously, start saving on a deposit for house
