At the moment i have a cheap set of wild cats on the au it has a super super high flow cat 3 inch, with full 3 inch pipe, and one straight through 3 inch muffler. The wild cats have a long set of primaries and finish in one 2 and a half inch collector just under the drivers feet. The question is if any one has swapped from a cheaper set of headers like this to a set of genie or something similar, the genies are 649 e. My car still has factory rev limiter.

No doubt someone has.

I guess you want to know if it's worth it?

So they are 6-1? What is the diameter on the pipes?

Yeah i guess if someone has done something similar,i guess with some mods already done it mite not make as much difference. Not sure on the pipe size they are both the same size but the cheaper ones are press bent. are 649 e any good they are fairly short and end with two pipes side by side?

so they have secondaries? If they are cheapos then you will probably see a gain from going something like pacemakers with mandrel bends, but there's too many other factors to say whether it would be worth it or not. I would say wait for a set of pacies to come up cheap second hand, and (not sure on what else is done to your car?) go for a cam or even some headwork if it's within the budget.

It's a shame I didn't buy the xr8 I went to look at the other day as then I woulda been selling my 4480's.

f**k yeah, well if I sell mine I will expect to get $400 considering they are still blue

I've seen a few go for $200 in okay condition. In saying that I bought mine new as I expected to keep my car for a while

you will see a gain with a set of mandrel bent headers like the genies or the pacemaker 4499/4480 over the wildcats.

the wildcats are intended for gains low in the rpm range. around 1000-3500rpm from what ive been told by users.

To be honest though you will be better spending your money on a cam regrind if you don't already have one, leave the manifold upgrade to when your running out of other things to do.

it only has the vct cam at the moment with the ported vct head. But the motor going in has more port work and a bigger billet cam. still has rev limiter though
