hey guys need some help or advice i finshed putting the mpi gear on went to start it today and it sounds like it wonts to start but it isnt. i checked for spark and its getting spark. its getting fuel into the rail and i checked the plugs if there getting fuel but only 2 are. would this mean that 4 injectors are stuffed and i imagine the car wouldnt run with 2 cyc firing and also i havnt hooked up the purge hose yet does that come into it not starting

any help would be great

did you change all the wiring loom and the computer too? Dizzy is also different as well

if its got spark and fuel can only really be timing I would think, but you would have done that I'm sure unless dizzy is a tooth out???

the timing is fine, but as i said im only getting fuel to two plugs. ill grap another set injectors tommorow and try that out

its doing wat mine was doing and that was the ecu wat ecu are you running

i just put another set of injectors in and still the same but i can hear a explosion sound in the inlet.

well does anyone know if i can test my ecu or does it need to be reset to run, its still not firing up its driving me mental

i just checked my ecu and its a

87DA-12A650-CD

witch is a cpi ecu . some dodgy C*&t on ebay sold me a cpi not a mpi as he told me

so i guess this why my car isnt starting

well kinda glad that you got that sorted... now you got to find a ECU from the wreckers I guess..... 5 speed manual ones would be a joy to find too.. wonder if you can use a auto one, seeing as the auto computer is seperate????

you can always do the resistor trick to an auto ECU to make it think its a manual.

guys i still cant get the thing started ive got the right ecu. all plugs are getting wet . im getting spark and still wont fire. the only thing im not sure of is why there is a backfiring sound coming from the inlet manifold

this is doing my head in i need help i really dont want to have to put it on a trailer and take it to a mechanic
