think they should just go ahead and ban those bloody things they TRY to call "exhausts".. far out i could easily make a car sound better by using a Milo tin as a muffler or cat. including look better. what has some of my generation come to?!

Don't worry a mate of mine used to have a Datsun 180B with a weber carb and we used to say it sounds like someone f@rt in a tomato can! He eventually grew up and bought a XB hardtop/coupe!

Well it sounds better than ANY 6cyl falcon guaranteed, its like a oval cannon muffler 4inch magnaflow, not cheap!

People need to understand that a cannon sounds terrible cause they do pretty much nothing with sound depression, and mostly all of them are cheap pos off ebay.

Throw a QUALITY cannon muffler on a turbo car with a middle muffler and a proper turbo back exhaust and they sound fine, not loud at all. And still give a great note under WOT.

But no they would sound s**t on a NA falcon.

I dunno about that one, there is a very nice sounding AU I6 falcon at the exhaust shop next door. I swore it had extractors due to the exhaust note it had, when the bonnet was popped my jaw dropped, a stock manifold! Just a well made sports exhaust system, and what it note it has, nice, louder than stock but not over the top.

Cheers

trust me, ive had a 6cyl falc with many different exhaust configurations on it, finished up with 4480, high flow and a 2 muffler redback and it sounds like poo compared to my skyline with a full 3 inch and one muffler. Its a seriously sweet sounding car, inside and outside. If you think a falc 6 sounds better than a RB you got rocks in your head haha

I hear SOHC 6cyl falcons all the time with catbacks and they really dont sound good, not to bad from the inside but outside it just sounds slow!

A high flow cat & Single muffler redback brand sounds nice. ill never buy a 2muffler exhaust system they're s**t and sound stock. no real point buying them you might aswell stab holes in the cat

I think you muddled your words up...........

I have a 2 muffler Redback system on my AU, and it has a deep note without the white noise, if anything its still too loud

Auto falcons with loud exhausts sound like the after effects of delicious chinese take away

All the mad dudes with the family E-series who do laps all night and reckon they drive a Lamborghini but all they did was cut the springs and get a cat-back off ebay seem to have the Chinese takeaway note.

That's partly why I have a 2 muffler setup as well. Believe it or not you can still improve your exhaust system without being really loud and droning.

Agreed with Thomas and FordFairmont. I have 2 mufflers in my catback and it still has a very satisfying tone to it.
