My Ef feels like it is missing (But i dont think it is) when it is idle. It has been in and had a full service and tune. (ULTRA TUNE) they told me all Ef's run a bit rough! @##@ #@##@. It has new plugs + $130 worth of leads. Just had it put on LPG. problem seems to be more noticable since on LPG. Any one got any ideas?

This is a very common problem, I had this very same problem 18 months ago. Try this
Remove and check the resistance on each lead they should be less than 20,000 Ohms. If it only occurs when running on petrol. Remove each injector and have them professionally cleaned (about $20ea) With engine running spray some aerostart or similar around manifold gasket, if idle increases than a leak is indicated. Check all vacuum hoses for leaks Do each item above at differant times so you can find out the true cause. Finally after all this my fix was to run the car on premium fuel for about 3 months!

Still it a fairly easy job to confirm it for yourself.

I would definately clean the ISC & throtle body again anyway. If you want a job done properly, you gota do it your self! Check plugs & leads, clean injectors as already mentioned. If it still runs rough it could be your coil pack. I've heard they do fail a bit. Mine did. I've done all of the above ($$$$$$). now runs perfect!

Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the tappet cover and plug the end of the hose and see if that fixes your problem. It is a known problem with LPG because the PCV hose lets air inbetween cylinders 2-3 making them run lean when on LPG, but not when on petrol. Ford have a kit to correct this problem Station-rat |
