Well, I THOUGHT it was the ECU. Changed that out, no success. When I try and start the car, the only thing that happens is I get the exclamation icon and silence.... WHAT'S going on???? Can ANYONE help????

Thanks!

only exclamation mark i could find was related to a brake malfunction. is the battery fully charged up & connected correctly?. is the small cable connected to the starter motor?. did you do any check of codes?. have you made sure there are no blown fuses [& checked to make sure they are not blown]?.

what made you think it was the PCM [ecu]?.

Hello all,

Just an update on the no start - no crank issue on my falcon. I went out today and tried to start it again. Car was in Park , turned the key and nothing. Tried to then start the car in Neutral, nothing. I did notice that the gearshift light dissapears when I turn the key but then comes back on when I release it. I STILL get the exclamation light on it when trying to start the car. I have tried to bypass the starter relay and still nothing. Maybe a starter????

or it could be the inhibitor switch on the side of the box? [if a 4sp], or the small wiring clip to the starter motor has come off. did you try moving the selector from neutral to reverse/drive [just that little bit either way] whilst turning key to on?.

The transponder in the key barrel may be failing. I have the issue with my FG sometimes. try pushing the key into the barrel as you turn it. Works for me, costs nothing to try.

if your pushing the key into the barrel [further than it needs to] then you possibly have a problem with the back of the ignition barrel [ie it 'maybe' loose?].
