Hey guys,
My EB died on me in the middle of the highway, i got it towed and my mechanic put in a new fuel pump. the car worked for 3 days and died the same way as it did before, the symptoms were: - started loosing power when i revved it, as in was fine till 3k then lost it for a sec then regained till 4 k and lost it then the same at 5k, the new fuel pump fixed this. - when i braked the car would stall (its an auto) and then i had to slam it in neutral and start the motor.. when it first died it would not restart. - now its out the front of my house sitting and not going anywhere sometimes i try to fire it up and it goes. and idles and when i rev it everything is awesome and fine.. as soon as i go to drive it down the street i get half way and it looses all power and the motor stops.... when i go to restat it the engine starts for a second then it dies ( its a slow die like it wants to keep going but its got no juice or something) and it just feels like its choking. any suggestions as to what i need to do to get it going as i just bought a t5 conversion, and a gas injection kit for it, and would really like to keep the car. i know that i need a new battery cos the one in there is rooted, people are suggesting its the throttle body but i dont really see how this could be an issues as its a butterfly thats either open or closed , should i get another fuel pump.. or is there something else that i should consider? regards pete |

battery, start there. you know it needs it so start with that. or put your battery on a full charge to test it.
the fuel pump will eather work or wont work. could be filter but it would show more symptoms befor it died. start with a battery.
