G'day guys,

I dropped in to Ringwood Dynomatics today and had a dyno tune done with two runs (Air box lid removed)

1st run - 126rwkw @135km/h (leaning out)

after ben@dynomatics tuned/tweak'd

2nd run - 144rwkw @142km/h

Over all the car feels much smoother and sounds better.

I will be putting up sheets in my gallery.

He charged $180 for the dynotune / and I think I was quoted $65/run

I want to get a reading from another dyno. (Where can i get a shootout reading in melbourne?) but for now i'm really happy!

the dyno guy sed air flow rate?

if so, it was 15.0,15.1,15.4

15-15.4 is very lean air/fuel ratios's, u should be getting approximately in the 12's... when i dynoed my EF my afr's were between 11.8-12.6 i think, as it started to get a tiny bit rich towards the end...

I was just going to post the same thing.

That is leaner than the lean cruise modes that Ford run in their ecus, which are 14.4:1.

If thats really how lean its running, chances are you will need a new engine engine in the near future. :?

What sort of tweaking was done? Sounds like he tweaked the dyno paramaters.. there's not much tweaking you can do to an EFI car unless you have an aftermarket ECU.

Yes.. Interesting what he may have did... Unless there was something unplugged in the engine bay, there is nothing to "adjust".

I get 120 - 122rwkw on a non-Shootout dyno. But bumps up to 141rwkw when run in Shootout mode... Interesting... 8-)

That sounds too good to be true. What's involved in a "dyno tune"?

Im not 100% sure what he has done but he did mention something about changing the throttle body position. (sorry no mechanic ;( )

both readings where within 20mins of each other. I went for a spin this afternoon and it is much better, idle is up a fraction. and the exhaust note is more luppy (wade 1004-12) before it was droning abit.

i assume that he has played with the air/fuel mix!?

i will put up the first dyno sheet if you want

Perhaps he adjusted the 710 cap?
People say dyno figures, I say quarter mile times.
They say you first, I say 17.9.. dammit...

I was going to ask the same: how did he jack it up near 20RWkW without a reprogrammable chip?? Possibly advanced the timing?

I pulled 124 in my ED with 1004-114, T5, 2.5", no extractors and running quite rich :)
