Did you have alot machined off the head ? If you take too much off it puts slack in the timing chain and causes a bit of rattle (my new engine does it a little but its had alot taken off the head and block)
My old engine did the rattling at 1500 revs thing too after doing the head, cam etc but I didn't replace the chain and I broke the top off the timing chain guide If it's still rattling it sounds like there's not enough tension so I'd try resetting the tensioner again.

What was wrong ? You're pretty keen taking timing chains right on and off - I CBF even fixing my broken guide because of the amount of work involved pulling everything off BTW I suspect taking a link out of the chain would make it way too tight...

i cut the old chain off and wound the engine over with the new chain conected to the old one
and i reset the tensioner twice and its all fixted now |
