Nice XR. Like you said mate, headers with exhaust and tune won't break the bank. It's when the power pug hits and you're hungry for more. I suggest getting a transmission cooler if it's the 4sp Auto.

About $120 from ebay. Fairly easy to fit up.

You will need to remove your front bumper, and radiator. Buy a Max Ellery's workbook, details 100% how to do this.

Mate, easy as piss to do the underdrives yourself. Simply loosen the drive belt, remove the belt. Remove the idler pulley and idle tensioner pulley (if you got the Powerbond Kit that has the 3 pulleys, if only the harmonic balancer not need to remove others).

From there, get a breaker bar. Fit socket to front of crankshaft bolt. Crack the bolt loose. Now if you have a 3 or 2 jaw pulley puller, this make life easy as hell. Simply apply the jaws around the balancer, then screw the centre so it moves inwards (pulley outwards on the balancer). This will slowly but safely remove the balancer.

Once off, give the new balancer a hit of wax and grease remover. Give everything a clean down there. Simply pop the new balancer on, get a rubber mallet and a thick cloth and just go around in a circular motion, tapping the balancer until it won't move any further. Do the crank bolt up to the torque specs of 125nm. Replace the new belt, and tighten it all up. Replace the radiator and do up ALL the hoses (triple check this s**t lol). You will need to put in fresh coolant, as it will drain during radiator removal.

Once all fitted, start car up and let idle for 10-15 to make sure you have no leaks and the coolant is through the pipes.

That is it. Takes about 2.5hrs from start to finish. Relatively easy job.

If you're gonna be adding more power, I suggest getting upgraded rotors and performance pads.

I also HIGHLY recommend upgrading the sway bars. I'm running 30mm up front, with 22mm Adjustable for the rear. Holy cow, it handles so nicely. Definitely worth the $500 for the pair.
