Right, here comes n00b question of the week lol.
Me mate tells me has an E series XR6 cam sitting in the shed that he's willing to just give me, and i know that the XR6 cams are slightly better.
However what i would like someone to clarify is that are all E series XR6 cams the same? Will any E series XR6 cam go into my XG without changing rocker gear and s**t???
I've been searching around but cant find any info.
Cheers in advance and sorry for my uselessness haha.

Yes, an Xr6 cam will drop straight into a stock head, no other work required. Use all your gear with the install. Nothing tricky, nothing special.

May as well take the opportunity to rebuild you HLA's while you are there.

Really? I'll have to keep that in mind  I've already ordered the bloody bastards as well :x I'll see how they go and post the results once they're in, hopefully they wont tick or disintegrate cos that would suck!

i hope it goes well for you there a simple design and not much should go wrong with them.
but if you hold a nason one then hold a factory one you will feel the difference straight away.

OK....I have ran an EA MPFI cam.....they had longer duration on the exhaust than the later cams....no more lift.
The E series XR6 cam has more lift on the exhaust side of things, and they are retarded by about 2*.....that means they pull later in the rev range, and hence the need for 3.45 diff gears.
I currently have an EF XR6 cam in my EA head, fitted to an ED bottom end.
This is my build thread.......
