Hi All
While changing my leads today i just found that next to the distributor coil in my EF 6cyl GLi that one of the sensors has been sheared off. The sensor is just above the coil and a bit further back. Does anyone have any idea what it might be, i've been told its a knock sensor, not sure what that does though. I'm pretty sure its not the oil pressure sensor Any help would be great |

ok ef had coil pack not coil EL had the coil
now what do u mean about a sheared off sensor? is it a plug u can see? is the plug damaged if it was the oil pressure sensor u would have the oil light on and that is towards the front of teh block knock sensor is on the rear of the head near firewall

yeah its at the rear of the block and im sure its not the oil sensor because i got it working again (accidently disconnected the wire while changing leads). This sensor (plastic) screws into the block and where it does so its been sheared off but there is still some strands of wire showing from its base. The wires on the other end feed into the main loom so i havent been able to trace it back
I hope this all helps and cheers for the help |
